Car service and maintenance can sometimes seem overwhelming – especially during the snowy, winter season, when keeping your car in top shape is more important than ever for maximum performance and safety.
Here are some winter service FAQs that will hopefully help you out:

What’s the difference between snow tires and regular tires?

While regular tires are designed to work moderately well throughout the year, snow tires are designed specifically for winter weather. They have specific treading that creates additional friction and grip on icy, snowy roads, so you are less likely to lose control of your vehicle.

Should I warm my car up in the morning?

Any vehicle designed in the last 20 years needs only about 30 seconds to warm up, and actually driving is the fastest way to heat up the interior of your vehicle. Idling you car to “warm it up” can not only harm your engine but also wastes gasoline and money.

Should I change my windshield wiper blades?

Windshield wiper blades should be replaced about once a year or as soon as you notice streaking or other improper functioning. It’s important to have windshield wiper blades that work properly during the winter to clear snow and slush off your windshield.

What should I do if my car starts to skid on ice?

Though it may seem counter-intuitive, steer your vehicle in the direction of the skid, which will hopefully cause your tires to re-align, once again giving you control of your vehicle. Try to avoid
driving on icy roads whenever possible.
